Generous Classroom Partners with Delanie Dennis to Inspire the Next Generation

What happens when you combine a young girl with a big heart, a passion for giving, and a vision to teach others how to be generous? You get someone like Delanie Dennis — a shining example of how one person can make a difference.

At just 11 years old, Delanie became the ASPCA Kid of the Year in 2022, recognized for her incredible efforts to help animals in need by raising over $60,000 by selling one glass of lemonade at a time and each month, Delanie chooses an animal organization to donate money to. Her passion caught the attention of Good Morning America, where her story inspired millions. But Delanie isn’t stopping there. She’s now on a mission to help students learn how to be generous with their money as she shared her story with Generous Classroom. We’re thrilled to partner with her to make that happen!

Proverbs 3:9 as our Foundation

Our partnership with Delanie is grounded in a timeless truth,

“Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops.”(Proverbs 3:9 NIV)

This verse reminds us that Generosity isn’t just about giving money; it’s about using what God has blessed us with to bless others.

Delanie’s journey beautifully reflects this. She started small by selling lemonade from her parents' cafe, and residents soon came in daily to see her. Her efforts grew into a national movement. Her story reminds students that no matter their age or resources, they can make a significant impact when they lead with a generous heart.

Bringing Generosity to Life in the Classroom

Through our partnership, students in 5th grade are learning how to live generously with their money in practical and meaningful ways, including participating in a transformational Community Service Project.

Students take their Generosity a step further by organizing a community service project and learning how to be generous with their money. Whether raising money for a local charity, collecting supplies for an animal shelter, or helping families in need, the goal is to teach students how to steward their resources and put their Generosity into action.

Why This Matters

Teaching students to be generous with their money goes beyond sharing their dollars and cents. It’s about shaping their hearts and minds to see giving as a way to honor God and serve others. Delanie Dennis exemplifies this through her incredible story, and we are honored to partner with her to help students follow her example.

Let’s inspire the next generation to live generously, create change, and improve the world — one act of Generosity at a time.
